The brand knows only too well that the textile industry is one of the highest polluting in the world. With this in mind, Parisienne et alors sets out to platform fashion with a conscience and an appetite for change. Because it makes all its collections in France, the brand's carbon footprint is automatically slashed and the French textile industry given a new lease of life, with the country's artisans showcased at their best. All the brand's items are made from natural materials such as cotton and wool. Recycled polyester may sometimes be used when key to an item's design. Its French factories are Oeko-Tex-certified and comply with the ethical, responsible policies that the founder values so highly. The knit fabrics are made in a unit in France's Hauts-de-Seine region, and the jewelry is crafted by French designers specializing in natural stones with wellness-boosting properties. The footwear, meanwhile, is made by an artisanal cobbler in the greater Paris region, using quality plant-dyed leather. Even the raw materials themselves are made by an Oeko-Tex-certified weaver in Lyon. Parisienne et alors is thinking big, continuing to champion ways of doing things differently by donating a proportion of its collections' profits to associations aligned with its values, such as Reforest Action, an association working to protect and plant forests in France and further afield.
