Sessùn is the love child of France and England, raised by a Japanese nanny. The designer Emma François has taken the best of these three countries to create a women's clothing brand that is both urban and beautiful. High-quality materials, on-trend cuts, fine fabric and a fresh look are the watchwords. In true casual-chic style, one collection follows the next, but no two are the same. Every season, the designer's increasing maturity and confidence help her to create a sophisticated collection in which each piece evokes a journey, a memory or an encounter. Her skilled use of prints and materials is indisputable: Sessùn has it all sewn up. Whether you're looking for a super soft wool coat to beat the winter cold or a romantic skirt, Sessùn is there for you. You'll also find elegant and original Sessùn dresses (with both high- and low-cut necklines) at Place des Tendances.
Emma François was an anthropology student who could have become a researcher or an archeologist for the sheer joy of making discoveries. But she ultimately chose to print her memories on fabric instead of paper. And the whole Place des Tendances team thanks her for it!
It was on one of her many trips to South America that something clicked in Emma. After meeting artisans skilled at weaving, embroidery, sewing and making things, the future founder of Sessùn decided to follow her heart.
In 1998, she introduced her brand to the public for the first time. Less than a year later, it was awarded the Jeune Créateur (Young Designer) prize by the Maison Mode.
Emma is a designer whose caring approach translates into her clothing. Attention to detail, finely tuned expertise and beautiful craftsmanship are the values that the Sessùn designer holds dear. Everything inspires her, from meetings to travel and from books to music and drawings by her favorite illustrators. In her role as Sessùn designer, she doesn't hold back when it comes to drawing on art and culture to inspire the clothing she creates. The brand has also decided to take action to help the planet. Its approach can be summed up in one word: innovation. This includes looking at materials from a new angle, designing unique artisanal stores, defending threatened textile production methods and, above all else, promoting responsible fashion.
Emma François likes to focus on the latest trends, colors, prints, shapes and cuts. She trusts in her instincts, the emotions she feels and the people she meets, and proudly states that she will never make any compromises in her supply chain. She is convinced that if you do something that doesn't feel right, it will lead to failure.
Sessùn is a very appealing brand and the whole Place des Tendances team is delighted to have it on board. Whether you're looking for the perfect shirt (serious but not too serious) or a transitional skirt, you can count on Sessùn to provide it.
