Zadig&Voltaire is a French ready-to-wear brand that was launched in 1997 by Thierry Gillier, whose grandfather was the founder of everyone's favorite little crocodile-stamped polo shirts: Lacoste. Thierry Gillier's passion for literature prompted him to name his brand in a tribute to Voltaire, and his opus Zadig Or The Book Of Fate. Zadig&Voltaire's trademark style is edgy, grungy, relaxed and trend-led. Originally aimed at women, the brand branched out in the 2000s and designed collections for men and children as well as a line of fragrances and leather goods.
